ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team won big at home 83-53 over the St. Mary's (MN) Cardinals on Saturday back home at the Mabee Athletic Complex.
The Cowgirls shot a great percentage and had 20 assists against the Cardinals, finishing with four players in double-figures for points.
Hardin-Simmons led 24-14 after the first quarter and added to the lead to go up 45-24 at the half. The Cowgirls finished off the win outscoring St. Mary's 38-29 in the second half for a final score of 83-53.
HSU hit 31-70 shots, including 10 made 3-pointers.
Dylan Koele hit four 3-pointers for 12 points for the Cowgirls.
Kynnan Shields led the Cowgirls in scoring with 14 points shooting 6-9 on the day.
Aiken Semones finished with 11 points and
Madison Williams scored 10 points for the Cowgirls.
Kylie Ellsworth led the Cowgirls with eight assists in the game and
Jacqueline Berry had six rebounds to lead the team.
The Cowgirls improve to 12-1 on the season and will host the Rhodes College Lynx on Jan. 4 at 1 p.m. in the Mabee Athletic Complex.
