WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy basketball team played lights out for the win at Whitman on Thursday night 76-58 to improve to 4-3 on the season.
 
Hardin-Simmons opened the road trip against the Whitman Blues Thursday and will play at Whitworth on Saturday night.
 
The Cowboys had their best shooting day of the year with a 57% game, making 28-49 and 9-14 from 3-point land. HSU held the Blues to shooting 19-56 for 34% on Thursday. The Cowboys led the rebounding category with 34-26.
 
Hardin-Simmons led 35-28 at the half and pulled away to finish of Whitman 76-58. The Cowboys had four players score in double-digits.
 
Chris Bryant led the team with 17 points shooting 7-11. Austin Brewer did not miss with 14 points on five buckets and led in rebounding with eight.
 
Will Bartoszek had 13 points with a pair of 3-pointers made and Silas Livingston led the team in assists with nine and scored 11 points.
 
The Cowboys improve to 4-3 on the year and will play at Whitworth on Saturday at 8 p.m. before a home game next Tuesday against Trinity at 7 p.m. in Abilene.
