ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team took down the Willamette University Bearcats 7-1 on Thursday in a dual match at the Streich Tennis Center.
Hardin-Simmons took two of three doubles matches and won all six singles flights against the Bearcats.
Laurel Coleman and
Jonnah Smith teamed up for an 8-5 win against Groener and Suzuki in the first flight of doubles.
Christa Bennett and
Halle Smith went up for an 8-2 Cowgirl win in the third doubles flight playing Sola and Lief.
Coleman won the ace singles match 6-1, 6-0 against De Crinis of Willamette.
Jonnah Smith went up 6-1, 6-4 in the second singles match over Suzuki for the Cowgirls.
Brenna Gordon won 6-2, 6-2 for the Cowgirls in the third singles flight playing Groener from the Bearcats.
Triniti McBride took a 6-0, 6-2 win for Hardin-Simmons in the fourth singles match against Willamette's Lief.
Addyson Tylaska won 6-1, 6-0 against Thompson in the fifth singles match for the Cowgirls and
Halle Smith won 6-3, 6-3 in the sixth Cowgirl singles match.
The Cowgirls are now 7-6 and will host the McMurry War Hawks on Friday at 10 a.m. in ASC play.
