BELTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball team swept the University of Dallas Crusaders on Saturday playing the team's final match at the UMHB tournament to end the weekend with three wins.
The Cowgirls have gone 3-1 on the weekend, defeating No. 24 Southwestern and University of St. Thomas on Friday and getting the win against University of Dallas Saturday. The Cowgirls only dropped a 3-2 game to undefeated UMHB on Thursday night.
The Cowgirls took down the Crusaders of Dallas in straight sets 25-18, 25-20, 25-23 for the sweep.
Liz Underwood had an incredible game, notching 16 kills in the sweep, averaging 5.33 kills per set in the match. Underwood also led the Cowgirls with 10 digs to get the double-double against Dallas.
Ali Meyer added 16 assists to lead the Cowgirl team on Saturday after eclipsing 1,500 assists for her career at Hardin-Simmons on Friday.
The Cowgirls end the week with a record of 8-3 and 0-1 in the ASC and will travel to play at UT-Dallas next Saturday at 2 p.m. in Richardson, Texas.
