RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball team dropped a match 3-1 to the UT-Dallas Comets on Saturday on the road in non-conference play.
UT-Dallas is heading to Division II next year and are ineligible for postseason at the Division III level, including American Southwest Conference postseason.
The Cowgirls went down 25-17, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23, taking the third set against UTD. HSU hit 46 kills to 53 from the Comets and Hardin-Simmons also notched 13 blocks in the game.
Liz Underwood led the Cowgirls with a double-double against the Comets. Underwood hit 19 kills and had 13 digs, both leading the Cowgirls. She also had three service aces and six blocks.
Ali Meyer had 22 assists for Hardin-Simmons and
Keatyn Rodgers had 10 assists. Meyer had a double-double adding 10 digs and
Ari Villanueva had 13 digs for the Cowgirls.
Jadyn Hernandez had a whopping eight blocks to lead the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls fall to 8-4 on the season and will travel to play an ASC match at Howard Payne next Friday night at 6 p.m. in Brownwood.
