ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy soccer team defeated the defending SCAC Champion University of St. Thomas Celts 2-1 on Saturday night at the HSU Soccer Complex.
The Cowboys came off a big win against the Concordia Tornados on Thursday and finished the weekend with another win over consistent regional power St. Thomas on Saturday.
The Cowboys went down 1-0 in the ninth minute to UST before scoring twice to take the win against the Celts.
Daniel Villagomez hit a rebounded shot to score his first goal for the Cowboys in the 24

Jakob Fiol, who got it to
James Webb for the back-foot finish for Webb's first goal as a Cowboy, taking the 2-1 lead that would win the game for HSU.
The Cowboys led with 25 shots and seven shots on goal as well as nine corner kicks.
Carson Null started in goal for Hardin-Simmons and had two saves in the win.
The Cowboys improve to 4-2-1 and will travel to open ASC play at LeTourneau on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in Longview.
