AUSTIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy basketball produced its highest offensive output of the season Monday night, scoring 102 points on the road in a fast-paced matchup against Concordia Texas at the Concordia Fieldhouse. Despite the strong scoring performance, the Cowboys fell 122-102 in the non-conference contest.
Hardin-Simmons (4-5) showcased depth and scoring versatility, dominating the boards with 54 total rebounds, including 16 offensive rebounds. Nine different Cowboys scored seven or more points in the game and the Cowboys also recorded nine blocks, 21 assists, and a season-high 56 points off the bench.
Junior forward
Chris Bryant delivered a standout performance, finishing with 18 points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting night, adding seven rebounds, three assists, and a game-high six blocks.
Freshman guard
Gavin Davis added 13 points, knocking down three 3-pointers, while guard
DJ Jones chipped in nine points with three triples of his own. Forward
Asher Fleming played one of the most complete games of the night, posting eight points, nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals.
Hardin-Simmons returns home on Saturday, Dec. 6 to play against LeTourneau at the Mabee Complex. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
