ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team outpaced the Chapman Panthers 73-57 on Sunday afternoon at the Mabee Athletic Complex for the 11
th Cowgirl win of the season.
Hardin-Simmons put on a show in the first half to lead 49-23 over Chapman, shooting 19-of-32 for 59 percent in the first two quarters.
Senior point guard
Caroline Croft scored a career-high 21 points in the win, including 15 points in the first half. She scored 11 points in the first quarter and finished the game 6-of-7 with four made 3-pointers.
The Cowgirls finished off the win shooting 42 percent on 24-of-57 field goals and 8-of-25 three-pointers. HSU led the rebounding 42-36 over Chapman and held the opponent to 39 percent shooting in the game.
Jacqueline Berry led the team with four assists and had five rebounds to go with ten points for the Cowgirls against the Panthers on Sunday.
Angie Sacco scored eight points, and
Abbie Crow,
Nilaya Gordon, and
Avery Cathey each scored seven points for HSU.
Hardin-Simmons will play again Monday at 3 p.m. against Concordia Moorhead (MN) in the Mabee Athletic Complex.
