RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team dropped the opening game of the spring to Cal Lutheran on Friday playing at UT-Dallas.
The Cowgirls got rained out in the afternoon match with UT-Dallas midway through.
Hardin-Simmons went down 7-0 to the Cal Lutheran women.
Jonnah Smith and
Laurel Coleman went down 6-3 in the first doubles.
Taylor Levy and
Sydney Tomlin dropped the second doubles match 6-2 and the Cowgirl team of
Halle Smith and
Addyson Tylaska went down 6-1 in the third.
Coleman went down 6-1, 6-4 in the first singles match and Smith played the second singles match to a 6-3, 6-2 defeat.
Levy played at the third singles and lost 6-4, 6-3. Tomlin played the fourth singles match and went down 6-3, 6-3.
Emma Curiel had a tiebreak on the first set of the fifth singles match and fell 7-6(1), 6-2.
Triniti McBride went down 6-0, 6-3 in the sixth singles match.
The Cowgirl go to 0-1 in the spring and will face Trinity on Feb. 22 at the Streich Tennis Center at 11 a.m.
