ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy basketball team defeated the LeTourneau YellowJackets 77-65 on Thursday night at the Mabee Athletic Complex to stay undefeated in American Southwest Conference play.
 
Hardin-Simmons led 39-33 at the half with a big make from deep by DJ Jones to extend the lead. The Cowboys shot 57 percent in the first, including 5-10 from 3-point land.
 
The Cowboys got up to their largest lead of 20 points at 73-53 with just under three minutes left in the game. HSU held LeTourneau to shooting 37 percent with only ten made shots in the second half.  
 
Austin Brewer led the Cowboys with 18 points shooting 6-10 with two made 3-pointers.
 
Four Cowboys finished with nine points. Chris Bryant had nine points and ten rebounds to lead the team.
 
Will Bartoszek, Matthew Alexander, and Trevion Howell each scored nine points in the win over LETU.
 
The Cowboys improve to 12-9 on the season and a perfect 5-0 in the American Southwest Conference with a game against East Texas Baptist on Saturday in the Mabee Athletic Complex.
