ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' baseball team fell 10-9 in 11 innings in a crosstown game at Wal Driggers Field on Tuesday night.

Brock Calvillo put the Cowboys on the board in the first inning with a two-run double and Jake Trapani added an RBI single. McMurry added a single run in the first and Trapani added an RBI single in the third and Baylan Vaughan had a two-run single in the fourth to make it 6-1.

McMurry scored a pair of runs in the fifth and Cannon Negron had an RBI single in the seventh and Layden White had a two-run double to push the lead out to 9-4.

The War Hawks came back with four runs in the seventh to cut the deficit to 9-7, the big blow coming on a three-run home run by Nick Sobolewski. Blake Beach had an RBI single in the eighth but Jace Martinez worked out of a bases-loaded jam to keep the Cowboys with a 9-8 lead.

McMurry scored a run in the ninth on a Cowboys error and had the bases loaded with no outs, but Martinez once again came up clutch with three straight strikeouts to leave the bases loaded again.

Riley Hood led off the 11th with a single and moved to second on a strikeout in the dirt with two outs. Beach then reached on an error and Hood scored the winning run on a passed ball.

Calvillo led the way for the Cowboys with four hits, to push his season average to .500.
Beckham Paul led McMurry with three hits.

David Perez, the fifth pitcher of the night for the War Hawks, earned the win. He worked three scoreless innings allowing just one hit and striking out five.
