ARLINGTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team defeated the LeTourneau Yellowjackets 7-0 on Thursday in American Southwest Conference play to improve to 3-0 in the conference.
Hardin-Simmons took two doubles matches for the doubles point.
Laurel Coleman and
Jonnah Smith won 6-3 in eth first flight and
Taylor Levy and
Sydney Tomlin defeated the Yellowjackets 6-1 to win the second doubles match.
Coleman led the Cowgirls in the first singles match 7-5, 6-3 against LETU. Smith won the second singles match 6-3, 6-2 for HSU.
Tomlin went up 6-2, 6-1 in the third singles match and Levy won 6-3, 6-0 in the fourth singles match for the Cowgirls.
Emma Curiel got a 6-3, 6-1 win for Hardin-Simmons in the fifth singles match and
Triniti McBride completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 win for the Cowgirls in the sixth singles match.
The Cowgirl are now 5-5 and 3-0 in conference play and will return to Abilene on Friday to host UTPB beginning at 2 p.m. at the Streich Tennis Center.
