ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' football head coach
Jesse Burleson has released the 2025 fall schedule for the Cowboys.
"Our schedule will have a new look with six home games and three non-conference opponents we haven't played in a while," said Burleson. "Scheduling is a tough process each year. We are grateful to get the opponents we were able to get."
HSU will open the season in Orange, Calif., with a game at Chapman on Sept. 6 at 9 p.m. CST. The Cowboys then return to Abilene and play four straight home games, with the bye week mixed in.
The Cowboys host McMurry on Sept. 13 at 6 p.m., Louisiana Christian at 1 p.m. on Sept. 20, Howard Payne for homecoming on Oct. 4 and Mary Hardin-Baylor on Oct. 11.
HSU then heads to East Texas Baptist on Oct. 18, host Nelson University on Oct. 25, play at Howard Payne on Nov. 1, at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Nov. 8 and close the regular season at home against East Texas Baptist.
The meeting with Chapman will be the first between the two schools since a two-game set in 1997 and 1998. Louisiana Christian used to be a conference foe when they were in the American Southwest Conference and were then named Louisiana College. The two teams last played in 2019.
HSU is also playing Nelson University, formerly Southwest Assemblies of God University. The last time the two met was in 2016.
Tickets for the 2025 season will go on sale in August.
