ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team dropped a dual match 4-3 to the No. 21 Southwestern Pirates on Friday morning at the Streich Tennis Center in Abilene.
The Cowgirls matched up with the ITA ranked No. 21 Pirates quite well in the singles competition, splitting 3-3. The Cowgirls dropped the three doubles matches for the point and fell 4-3.
Laurel Coleman started with a win for the Cowgirls in the ace singles match. She won a split set 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 with a great finish.
Triniti McBride won for the Cowgirl in the fifth singles match with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Gracia of Southwestern.
Emma Curile had a Cowgirl win in the sixth singles match going up 6-3, 6-1 playing against Perkins.
The Cowgirls fall to 6-10 and will play tomorrow against Concordia Texas at 12 noon at the Streich Tennis Center.
