ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Texas-Dallas on Thursday afternoon at Hunter Field by scores of 12-6 and 14-4.
 
Hardin-Simmons was tied with the Comets in game one 3-3 in the fourth inning. 
Brock Calvillo, 
Jacob Hollingsworth, and 
Jake Trapani all had RBIs to tie the ballgame. Texas-Dallas put up nine runs in the sixth inning to take the game 12-6.
 
Baylan Vaughan and Hollingsworth led HSU with three hits in game one. Vaughan had a double and a triple and Hollingsworth had a double.
 
Alex Carte started on the mound with five innings in the loss with two strikeouts. 
Bradley Fletcher, 
Johnny Follett, and 
Guy George finished the game for the Cowboys.
 
UTD led the whole way in game two for a 14-4 win. HSU scored late with RBIs from 
Karson Leatherwood, Vaughan, and Calvillo.
 
Luke Kirkbride led the Cowboys with three hits and a double. 
Jace Martinez started at pitcher and had the loss in five innings with a strikeout. 
Caleb Smith threw three innings with a strikeout and Jackson smith threw the final inning with a strikeout.
 
The Cowboys fall to 7-23 and will finish the series with the Comets on Friday at noon at Hunter Field.
