BELTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball team cruised to two wins on Saturday, defeating Methodist 3-0 and Alverno 3-1 at the Mary Hardin-Baylor tournament in Belton.
The Cowgirls took down Methodist in short order in the morning match with set wins of 25-14, 25-12, and 25-14. HSU hit for .308 with 32 kills in 78 attacks against the Monarchs in the sweep.

Rachel Nordt, and
Jadyn Hernandez were named all-tournament for the weekend.
Gabby Jones and
Molly O'Shaughnessy had seven kills each to lead Hardin-Simmons. Ari Villanueava finished with 14 digs and
Allison O'Shaughnessy led the team with 16 assists.
Abbi Allen ended the three sets with five total blocks against Methodist.
The Cowgirls won 3-1 against the Alverno Infernos in the afternoon match with set scores of 25-12, 22-25, 25-9, and 25-10. Hardin-Simmons hit 52 kills with a .382 hitting percentage in the win against Alverno.
Allen and
Ellie Carter hit 12 kills each to lead HSU against Alverno.
Keatyn Rodgers led in assists with 20 and A. O'Shaughnessy finished with 11 assists.
Kat Martinez led the Cowgirls with eight digs.
Hardin-Simmons improved to 9-2 on the seasons with two wins and will play at Howard Payne on September 19
th at 6 p.m. to open American Southwest Conference play.
