HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy tennis team won 7-0 against the West Liberty University Hilltoppers on Saturday on the east coast playing in Hilton Head, S.C.
Brandon Curiel and
Pedro Rozani won the first match of the day at third flight doubles 6-1 and
Payne Smith and
Gabriel Harris secured the doubles point with a first flight doubles win 6-1 over WLU.
Gabriel Harris got the first singles point at the third flight 6-4, 6-1 against Shepard to get the Cowboys up 2-0.
Payne Smith won the first flight of singles 7-5, 6-2 against Zubieta to get the third match to 3-0 HSU.
Brandon Curiel won at the fourth flight of singles 6-0, 6-3 against Cowan and
Pedro Rozani got the win 6-3, 6-3 at the fifth flight of singles playing Zgurski.
Kayden Lengacher won the sixth flight of singles 6-1, 6-2 over Burns, and
Maddux Foster finished the sweep 6-2, 6-1, defeating Giurfa at the second flight of singles.
Hardin-Simmons improved to 5-2 on Saturday and will continue in Hilton Head, S.C. on Sunday, playing Shenandoah University at 12:30 p.m. central time.
