NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Hardin-Simmons football player
Harrison Foster earned the top American Southwest Conference honor for a male athlete as he was named the 2025-26 ASC Man of the Year, which goes to a graduated student-athlete who compiled the most outstanding record in academic achievement, athletics excellence, and service and leadership over the course of their undergraduate career.
"To be named the ASC Man of the Year is humbling," said Foster. "I appreciate everyone who voted for me for this honor. I just try to work hard every day for my team and do what is best to help us win, work hard in the classroom and try to do things the right way. I have had some great role models that have shown me the way, especially my parents and all the coaches that have poured into me."
A finance graduate with a 3.90 GPA, Foster earned the ASC Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor, the conference's highest academic and athletic honor. He was also named a CSC Academic All-American, CSC Academic All-District selection and Academic All-ASC honoree while being recognized as a semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy, presented annually to college football's top scholar-athlete.
On the field, Foster helped lead Hardin-Simmons to consecutive ASC championships and NCAA Division III Football Championship appearances in 2024 and 2025. During his senior season, he totaled 81 tackles, four tackles for loss, two interceptions returned for touchdowns, nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick. He earned Associated Press Second Team All-America honors, D3football.com First Team All-Region recognition and was a First Team All-ASC selection in both 2024 and 2025.
Away from the field, Foster volunteered at the West Texas Special Olympics Track Meet, supporting athletes with physical disabilities, and was a member of the Tri-College Fellowship of Christian Athletes throughout his collegiate career. He also served as a team captain during the Cowboys' 2025 ASC championship season.
He will also be back in the fall to anchor the Cowboy defense as he is using a final year of eligibility to finish his MBA.
"This is an honor that is perfectly fitting for one of the best student-athletes I have been around at Hardin-Simmons," said HSU head coach Jesse Burleson. "He is the best of the best on the field, off the field, in practice, in the weight room, in the locker room, on campus -- all of it. He is the epitome of what Division III is supposed to be about."
Foster is a graduate of Sweetwater High School and this will be his third season with the Cowboys after starting his career at Abilene Christian University.
Graycee Mosley, an All-American volleyball player at East Texas Baptist, was named the ASC Woman of the Year.
