ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl soccer team dropped a match to the Trinity Tigers on Thursday night at the HSU Soccer Complex by a final score of 5-1.
Trinity scored two in the first half to lead and added onto that in the second half in the win.
McKenzie Peck scored a goal for the Cowgirls with a finish in tight after a corner kick from
Tatum Barnett in the 60
th minute.
Trinity led in shots and shots on goal with 26 and 12, respectively, and Hardin-Simmons shot eight times with two shots on goal. The Tigers took eight corner kicks and HSU had two, scoring from one.
Rebecca Hall finished with seven saves for the Cowgirls at goalkeeper in full time in her first start as a freshman.
The Cowgirls dropped to 1-2-1 on the season and will play Southwestern University on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the HSU Soccer Complex.
