Roosevelt Williams

Biography

  • Williams is in his fourth full season as the developmental squad and secondary coach.
  • He has coached five All-ASC defensive backs in his tenure with the Cowboys. 
  • Roosevelt Williams came to HSU from ASA Miami where he was the head coach for the community college in Miami, Fla.

coaching_experience

  • Prior to ASC Miami, he was the defensive coordinator for three seasons at Lincoln University.
  • He spent a season at Webber International as a defensive back coach.
  • He spent a year with the Indianapolis Colts as part of the defensive quality control staff.
  • He was the defensive coordinator for two seasons at Seton Hill.
  • Was a defensive quality control intern with the San Diego Chargers.
  • Spent a year at Southwest Baptist and two seasons at Widener University. He worked with HSU defensive coordinator Zach Wilkerson at Southwest Baptist. 

Playing_Career

  • He is a former NFL player spending time with Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos.
  • Had a stint in the Canadian Football League with the Edmonton Eskimos.
  • He played collegiately at Tuskegee University where he was an All-American and four-time all-conference selection.
  • Williams has a degree in management from the University of Phoenix.
