MARSHALL, Texas — Hardin-Simmons'
men's basketball team dropped its fifth straight game with an
87-68 loss to East Texas Baptist in American Southwest Conference
action on Thursday night in Marshall.
The teams battled a close first half and HSU trailed just 35-32 at
the break. HSU trailed just 52-51 after a Rob Yeatts 3-pointer with
11:20 to play, but ETBU went on a 7-0 run over the next minute and
HSU never recovered.
Yeatts led the Cowboys with 18 points and Courtney Lockridge had a
career-best 11 points for HSU. HSU shot just 36.4 percent in the
game.
ETBU had five players in double figures with Dennis Jones leading
the way with 14. ETBU outscored the Cowboys 52-36 in the second
half.
HSU fell to 3-8 overall and 2-5 in ASC play. East Texas Baptist
improved to 6-6 overall and 3-4 in league play. The Cowboys HSU
will play at LeTourneau on Saturday at 3 p.m.
