ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team remained undefeated with a 95-65 win over East Texas Baptist in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex on Saturday.

Both teams came out sluggish and the game was tied at just 6-6 at the 13:34 mark, but HSU took over with a 20-4 run. John Derr scored 11 points in the run for the Cowboys, including three 3-pointers, Matt Addison had seven.

The Cowboys never led by less than 10 points the rest of the way and pushed the lead to 51-29 at halftime. HSU led by as many as 33 in the second half.

Addison led the Cowboys with 35 points, seven assists, five steals and four rebounds. He hit a career-best seven 3-pointers. George Nelson had 12 points and five blocks and Derr added 11.

East Texas Baptist was led by Jeremy LaGarde with 15 points and Jaron Joseph added 14.

HSU is now 7-0 on the year and 5-0 in ASC action. ETBU fell to 2-5 overall and 2-4 in the ASC. HSU will take the week of for final exams and return to the court on Dec. 19 at crosstown rival McMurry.
