Box Score ABILENE, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team continued its winning ways with a 72-59 win over LeTourneau on Thursday night in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex.
The win was No. 100 for HSU head coach Craig Carse at Hardin-Simmons.
The Cowboys had a balanced scoring effort with Justin Jones leading the way with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Christian O'Neal had 13 points in the game, Nathaniel Jack had 12 points and Derrick Jefferson added 10.
HSU took control of the contest early in the first half and never trailed after the opening minutes. HSU led 36-26 at halftime and pushed the lead to as many as 16 in the second half.
The Cowboys outrebounded LETU 45-36 in the game and limited them to 33.3 percent shooting.
Jared Hunter had 22 points to pace the Yellow Jackets and Giovanny Thompson had 18 points.
The Cowboys are 11-1 overall and 7-0 in conference play. LeTourneau fell to 4-8 overall and to 2-5 in ASC play. HSU will host East Texas Baptist on Saturday at 3 p.m.
