Box Score SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball rebounded with an 85-72 win at Trinity on Saturday afternoon in San Antonio.
The Cowboys drained 18 3-pointers in the contest, including seven by transfer
Dashun Dixon as part of a 29-point game for the junior.
Duane Hopper and Dixon hit back-to-back 3-pointers to break a 21-all tie midway through the first half and the Cowboys never trailed again in the game. The Cowboys pushed the lead out to 45-33 at halftime on a
Justin Jones dunk and
Maverick Harris 3-pointer in the final minute of the first half.
HSU controlled the game the rest of the way to move to 2-1 on the season and Trinity fell to 0-3.
Dixon hit 9-of-18 shots in the game and 7-of-15 from 3-point range.
Nathaniel Jack added 13 points and 10 rebounds and Hopper had 14 points.
Justin Jones had nine points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and three blocked shots for the Cowboys.
A.J. Pulliam and Ben Beatie had 15 points each to pace Trinity.
The Cowboys will host Schreiner in the home opener on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
