Box Score ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team rolled by George Fox 88-67 on Saturday night at the Mabee Complex.
George Fox led most of the first half and still led at 26-25 with 6:00 to play but the Cowboys closed the first half with a 16-6 run to take a 41-32 lead into halftime.
HSU used a 13-2 run out of halftime to push the lead out to 54-34 with 16:34 to play. The Cowboys were able to substitute liberally the rest of the game.
The Cowboy defense held GFU to 34 percent shooting in the game and had a 41-33 advantage on the boards. HSU outscored George Fox 52-16 in the paint.
Steven Quinn and Chase Cobb led a balanced attack with 14 points each. Aidan Walsh added 13 points and 14 of the 16 Cowboys scored in the game.
Austin Clark led the Bruins with 15 points and Donovan Cox and Zac Schmerber added 10 points each.
HSU is now 5-1 overall and will return to American Southwest Conference play this weekend with games at Belhaven and East Texas Baptist. GFU fell to 2-3 on the season.
