Quinn Drops 25 As Cowboys Win Fourth Straight

JACKSON, Miss. – Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team won its fourth straight game with an 81-54 win over Belhaven in American Southwest Conference action on Thursday night in Jackson, Miss.

Steven Quinn scored six of the 12 points in a 12-0 run to start the game for the Cowboys and HSU was never threatened in the contest. Quinn went to the bench right after the opening run with his second foul.

Kaleb Favors came in and picked up the scoring slack in the first half with 11 points and he added seven assists in the contest. HSU led 39-22 at halftime.

Quinn came out on fire in the second half and added 19 points in the second half. He had a personal 14-point spurt to push the lead out to 63-34 with 10:28 to play. His 25-point night was finished a few seconds later.

The defense suffocated the Blazers allowing just 37 percent shooting and forcing 25 turnovers that led to 35 HSU points. The Cowboys also had a 34-8 lead in points off the bench.

Arother Ratliff led Belhaven with 19 points and Donovan Givens added 10.

HSU is now 6-1 on the year and 2-0 in ASC play. Belhaven fell to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in league play. HSU will play at East Texas Baptist on Saturday at 3 p.m.
