MARSHALL, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team fell to East Texas Baptist, 85-81 in American Southwest Conference action on Thursday evening in Marshall.

With the game tied at nine in the early going, the Cowboys went on a 17-6 run to take a 26-15 lead with 8:44 to play in the first half. ETBU later used an 11-1 to tie the game and HSU led 38-37 at halftime.

The Tigers had their biggest lead of the night at 73-64 with 4:53 to play. HSU scored seven straight to cut the deficit to 73-71. Steven Quinn tied the game at 75 with a layup with 1:47 to play. The Tigers went 10-for-10 in the final minute at the free throw line.   

Quinn had another big game for the Cowboys with 29 points. Will Bartoszek had 19 points, 17 rebounds and six assists. Jackson Robinson had a career-best 14 points and tied his career-high with four 3-pointers.

ETBU's pressure was the difference in the game as the Tigers turned 16 Cowboy turnovers into a 22-11 advantage in points off turnovers.

Darry Moore led ETBU with 19 points and 10 rebounds and Jayden Williams and Aaron Gregg had 17 points each.

HSU is now 10-6 on the year and 6-4 in league play. ETBU improved to 14-3 overall and 8-2 in ASC action. The Cowboys will play at LeTourneau at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
