Goes into the preseason as the most experienced of the Cowboy quarterbacks fighting for the starting job. 2010: Went 27-of-38 for 301 yards with a touchdown as the Cowboys’ backup quarterback. His best game was against Texas Lutheran when he went 10-for-12 for 99 yards and a touchdown. Against Sul Ross State, he went 8-for-12 for 94 yards and also ran four times for 61 yards. Played quarterback in six games. 2009: Came in and started the final eight games of the year for the Cowboys, recording a record of 5-3. He completed 86-of-161 passes for 1510 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushed for another touchdown. Had a career-best 294 yards and three touchdown passes in a win over Howard Payne. Against Sul Ross State he threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns, while throwing just 10 passes. Was an academic all-ASC selection. 2008: Served as the Cowboys’ backup quarterback and had a solid freshman campaign. Completed 7-of-8 passes on the year for 73 yards and one touchdown. Also ran seven times for 49 yards and another score. Was 4-for-4 for 51 yards and an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Price against Sul Ross State.
