ABILENE, Texas -
Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team turned up the pressure and forced 28 turnovers en route to a 91-67 win over East Texas Baptist on Monday night in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex.
The Cowgirls once again came out slow and the game was tied at 21 with 8:07 to play in the first half. The Cowgirls went on a 25-12 run to end the half and led 46-33 at the break.
Ashley Allen and Rachel Cisneroz scored 15 straight points for the Cowgirls in the run.
In the second half the Cowgirls came out firing and a run mid way through the second half that saw Cisneroz score 11 of the Cowgirls 14 points put the game on ice.
Cisneroz led four Cowgirls in double figures with a career-best 28 points. Allen had 21 and Kristen Harris and Haylee Allen each had 10 off the bench.
Dana Alexander led East Texas Baptist with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
HSU (3-1, 2-0) will play at crosstown rival McMurry on Saturday at 5:30. ETBU fell to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in league play.
