Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team shot 55 percent and cruised to a 79-55 American Southwest Conference win at Concordia in the final women's game at the Woltman Activity Center.
The win gave the Cowgirls their 10th straight 20-win season as they closed the regular season with a 20-5 record. The Cowgirls are one of only five teams in the nation with 10 straight 20-win seasons. Concordia finished its season with a 14-11 record.
HSU dominated the game on the boards as they had a 48-24 advantage. Ashley Allen and Lindsey Newcombe each had double-doubles for the Cowgirls. Allen had 23 points and 12 rebounds and Newcombe had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Rachel Cisneroz had 15 points in her final regular-season game as a Cowgirl.
The Cowgirls took control of the game in the first half with a 15-0 run. HSU went from trailing 18-15 to up 30-20. Concordia never got closer than seven points the rest of the way. HSU pushed its 35-26 lead out to as many 31 at 79-48 in the second half.
HSU hit 19-of-32 shots in the second half. Kassandra Bills led Concordia with 25 points.
The Cowgirls will play Mississippi College in the first round of the American Southwest Conference Tournament on Friday in Tyler. The game time will be set on Monday.
