ABILENE, Texas —
Senior Carlos Singer hit a 3-pointer with 6.5 to play to lift Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team to a 59-58 win over Texas Lutheran in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex.

Singer was the only senior on the Cowboys roster and with :20 to play he took the ball with the Cowboys trailing 57-56. He pulled up from 30 feet and let loose a 3-pointer that found the bottom of the net. TLU raced the ball ahead and Henry Flores missed a layup with 1.5 seconds to play. However, he was fouled and made the first free throw and missed the second.

Singer led the Cowboys with 27 points and he averaged 30.5 points over his final four games of his career and finished the season averaging 18.1 points per game.

For the most part, the game was a defensive slugfest as both teams were allowed to get physical. The Cowboys ended up shooting just 31 percent for the game and TLU shot 41.3 percent. HSU won the battle of the boards 39-38.

Courtney Lockridge had his first career double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Cowboys. Michael Flores led TLU with 15 points.

The Cowboys finished the season with a record of 7-18 and 7-14 in ASC action. Texas Lutheran finished with a mark of 6-19 overall and 4-17 in league play.
