LEWISVILLE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons'
softball team saw its season come to an end with a 5-0 loss to East
Texas Baptist in the American Southwest Conference Tournament at
Railroad Park in Lewisville.
ETBU jumped out to a 4-0 lead with two runs in each of the first
two innings. Brooke Martin and Beck Young each had RBIs in the
inning. Porsha Harrison had a two-run triple in the second and
Young had an RBI single in the fifth.
Alicia Wright went the distance for ETBU and improved to 14-4
with the win. She allowed just four Cowgirl hits. Megann Lewis fell to 12-7 on the year for the Cowgirls as she allowed 12
hits and five runs in six innings of work.
Kelsey Cogdell had three hits for the Cowgirls and Lacie Cole
added the other as HSU could not generate much offense against
Wright.
HSU concluded its season with a record of 24-13. East Texas
Baptist improved to 31-10 with the win.
