Box Score TYLER, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' softball team closed its season with a 5-0 loss to Louisiana College on Friday morning at Suddenlink Field in Tyler in the American Southwest Conference Tournament.
LC opened the scoring in the fourth inning on a two–run home run with two outs by Madi Stine. LC added three runs in the fifth innings, two coming on a Laura Golata-Parrish double.
Sevannah Settle tossed the shutout for LC, scattering four hits and striking out four to improve to 15-5 on the year. Toru Rodriguez started and allowed five runs on five hits.
Genia Jones came on in relief and went two and one-third scoreless innings. Rodriguez finished the year with a 13-4 record.
Braleigh Middleton had two of the four hits for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls closed the season with a 22-16 record and LC improved to 28-12.
It was the final game for the Cowgirls' lone senior
Carley Willis, a four-year starter at third base.
