Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – Concordia University jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 81-59 win over Hardin-Simmons in American Southwest Conference women's basketball action in Austin on Thursday evening.
Concordia led 24-12 after the first quarter and pushed the lead out to 45-22 at halftime. Concordia turned 11 HSU first-half turnovers into a 16-3 advantage in points off turnovers to take the big lead. Concordia finished with a 22-7 advantage in points off turnovers.
The Tornados didn't let up in the third quarter as they hit 8-of-9 shots to start the quarter and pushed the lead out to 71-42 at the end of the quarter.
The Cowgirls outscored the Tornados 17-10 in the fourth quarter.

Heidi Schroeder established a new career-high with 17 points for the Cowgirls and she also had a team-high nine rebounds.
Kayla Brown had 12 points and eight rebounds.
Kourtney Holyfield hit three 3-pointers in the game to move to second on the all-time HSU 3-point make charts. She now has 147 to move past Shanna Briggs. She had 13 points on the night.
Jaela Dejean had 22 points to pace the Tornados. Isis Johnson added 12 and Kayla Strobel added 11.
The Cowgirls are now 10-14 on the year and 6-7 in league play. HSU will close the regular season on Saturday at Mary Hardin-Baylor at 1 p.m. Concordia improved to 13-11 overall and 5-9 in conference action.
