Box Score 2 ABILENE, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' softball team dropped a pair of American Southwest Conference games to Louisiana College on Friday afternoon at Ellis Field.
Game 1
Savannah Settle tossed a four-hit shutout for Louisiana College in the first game. She walked one and struck out three.
Shea Smith had an RBI single to break up a scoreless game in the fourth, Taylor Hammock had an RBI single in the fifth and a run scored on a passed ball in the seventh.
Lexie Allen worked the first three and two-third innings and allowed just one run but fell to 3-5.
Genia Jones worked the final three and one-third innings.
Kirsten Kenyon had two of the four hits for the Cowgirls. Shelby Bergeron and Taylor Hammock had two hits each for the Wildcats.
Game 2
In the second game, Hammock had an RBI single and Jordan Mason added a two-run single in the third inning. In the fifth inning Hammock had a sacrifice fly and Mason added an RBI single.
Darian Thacker (5-0) worked five shutout innings and Chelsea Lewis worked the final two innings for Louisiana College.
Chloe Brignac allowed five runs on eight hits to fall to 3-3 on the year.
KeAmbria Hunter had two of the seven hits for HSU and Mattie Stine had three hits for LC.
HSU is now 7-11 on the year and 4-10 in ASC play. Louisiana College improved to 16-2 overall and 13-1 in conference action. The teams will conclude the series with an 11 a.m. game on Saturday.
