ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team beat East Texas Baptist, 1-0, in American Southwest Conference action at the HSU Soccer Complex on Saturday evening.

The Cowboys received a goal in the 62^nd minute from freshman Shayne Bryan off an assist from Ben Matthews and the Cowboy defense made it hold up for the victory.

Goalkeeper Carlos Enriquez pitched a shutout for the Cowboys in goal with three saves. Justin Groves worked the game in goal for ETBU.

The game featured just 13 shots on the day and ETBU had the advantage 9-4.

The Cowboys are now 2-1-1 on the year and 1-0-1 in ASC play. ETBU fell to 2-5-1 on the year and 0-4 in conference play. HSU will play at Texas-Tyler and the University of the Ozarks next weekend.
