PINEVILLE, La. - Louisiana College got a walk-off single by Abby Sterling in the bottom of the seventh to sneak by the Hardin-Simmons softball team 2-1 in American Southwest Conference action in Pineville.

The Cowgirls took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Cierra Woodyard doubled home Kirsten Kenyon.

LC tied the game in the third inning on an RBI single by Briley Johnston and the game remained tied until the seventh inning.

Taylor Hammock reached on a two-base error and then Sterling drove in the game winner.

Five different Cowgirls had one hit each. Gabby Ortega was good in the circle as she allowed just four hits and one earned run. She is 0-12 on the year.

Cameron Crochet started and went six and one-third innings before Savannah Settle came in and recorded the final two outs of the seventh inning to improve to 6-3.

HSU is now 0-20 on the year and 0-12 in conference play. Louisiana College improved to 11-7 overall and 9-3 in ASC action. HSU hosts Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday in ASC play and has six home games next week.
