Box Score ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team won 2-0 at McMurry on Friday night in American Southwest Conference play.
Jaden Barnwell got the Cowboys on the board in the fifth minute with an assist from Micah Curry. Curry delivered another assist to the finishing Jakob Fiol in the 17th minute for what would end as a 2-0 win for the Cowboy club against the War Hawks.
The Cowboys had six shots with four on goal and McMurry had seven shots with four on goal as well. The Cowboys led with six corners in the match.
Reid Applewhite had the Cowboy start in goal with the win in the first half of play. Trent Ivy relieved him for the second half and had four saves. The War Hawk keeper Orion Patterson had two saves in 80 minutes in goal before giving way to Xavier Zanrosso to finish things.
The Cowboys improve to 7-6-2 and 6-2-2 in the ASC and will host the opening round of the ASC Championship tournament on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Abilene against Ozarks.
