Cowboys Suffer Tough 1-0 Loss at Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team fell 1-0 to the Southwestern Pirates on Sunday night playing on the road in Georgetown.

Carr Panetta put the Pirates ahead 1-0 in the 73rd minute with an assist from Nathaniel Blake, a score that would seal the deal for the Southwestern victory.

The Cowboys had ten total shots and landed four on goal compared to the Southwestern 14 shots and seven on frame. Both HSU and the Pirates competed for nine corner kicks.

The Cowboy keeper Reid Applewhite recorded six saves on the night in a full 90 minutes of play. The Pirate keeper was Jack Viles who totaled four saves in the win.

The Cowboys fall to 0-4 on the season and will continue playing on the road at Texas Lutheran next Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Seguin, Texas.
