Box Score SEGUIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team won 2-1 against the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs on Friday night playing in Seguin.
Nana Osei-Debrah gave the Cowboys the lead with a goal assisted by Jakob Fiol in the 47th minute. Austin Wills added another Cowboy goal assisted by Fiol and J.J. Sissen in the 58th minute.
The Bulldogs scored in the 86th minute from Jair Ortega assisted by Jorge Ugaz ad Louis Hart but could not overcome the Cowboys who won 2-1.
The Cowboys shot 16 times with seven on goal. TLU took 19 shots and put 11 on frame. TLU led with eight corner kicks to the HSU three.
Trent Ivy started in goal for HSU and had ten saves in the game. Esteban Rodriguez finished for the Cowboys in goal. Caleb Weed had five saves for Texas Lutheran.
The Cowboys move to 1-4 and will begin conference play next Thursday night at Belhaven at 7:30 p.m.
