Box Score ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team won 4-1 with some big offense in a night against the Dallas Christian Crusaders Thursday.
The Cowboys returned home for the first of two games on the week at the HSU Soccer Complex on Grape Street.
Jaden Barnwell got the Cowboys rolling in the 15th minute with a goal off a Malik Bascombe assist. Austin Wills gave HSU another opportunity on a long free kick that bounced over to Landon Murphy who scored in the 18th minute for a quick 2-0 lead.
Dallas Christian added a score to make it 2-1 in the 34th, but Jose Victor added to the Cowboy total with an assist from Christopher Donjuan just 30 seconds later.
Danny McKeague ripped a goal for Hardin-Simmons in the 38th minute to cement the 4-1 victory, with all the firepower in just a half of play.
HSU shot 28 times with 13 on frame while the Crusaders had six and three on goal. The Cowboys led with 15 corners to two.
Ekene Odiaka started for HSU and played a half with Carlos Solis finishing for the Cowboys with two saves in the second half.
The Cowboys stand at 1-2-2 and will host Wheaton (Ill.) Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in Abilene.
