Nicholson is one of the big bats in the middle of the Cowboylineup and is slated to play first base and designated hitter.Suffered an elbow injury in the fall and will not pitch thisseason. 2012: Hit .261 with three home runs and 18 RBIs in 92at-bats. Also went 4-5 with a 4.50 ERA on the mound for theCowboys. Had 11 starts on the mound and worked 64 innings. Workedfour and two-third innings in the ASC Championship Series decidinggame. Pitched seven shutout innings, striking out four, in a winover Mississippi College. Went at least six innings in seven of his11 starts. Had two home runs, drove in six runs and had four hitsin a win over Southwestern. Had a home run against Centenary. Hadthree hits in both games of a doubleheader against McMurry. 2011:Played in 16 games in the field as a freshman and started six. Alsoappeared in seven games as a pitcher and started three more. Hit.172 with two home runs and four RBIs. Had a 0-0 record with a 7.32ERA. Worked four innings against No. 1 Trinity and allowed just onerun. Worked two scoreless innings against Concordia. Had a home runin each game of a doubleheader early in the season against EastTexas Baptist. Walked on at Texas Tech during the fall semester,prior to coming to Hardin-Simmons.
