Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team used its non-starters for about the last 65 minutes of the game, but it did not matter as HSU outscored Concordia 10-0 in an American Southwest Conference game, Friday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.
The Cowgirls' starters got on the board early when Jordan Morley scored the first of her two goals in the first minute of the game. She added her second at the 3:49 mark. Lindsay Cogburn then scored at the 12:47 mark and Sarah Stansell made it 4-0 at the 25-minute mark.
Regan Cappella scored the first of her two goals at the 32:38 mark and added another at 41:24. Jessica Flobeck added a goal in between at 41:24.
Alyssa Derrick scored her first career goal with :18 to play in the first half to make it 8-0. Carlyn Powers and Flobeck added second half goals.
HSU did not allow a shot in the game an outshot Concordia 55-0.
The Cowgirls are now 8-1 on the year and 5-0 in league play. Concordia fell to 1-7 overall and 0-5 in league play. HSU plays one of their top competitors in the ASC on Saturday at 2 p.m., when UT Tyler comes to play.
