MARSHALL, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons'
women's basketball team had six players score in double
figures as itdefeated East Texas Baptist 100-64 in American
Southwest Conference action in Marshall on Thursday night.
Bo Warm was the story for the Cowgirls with 23 second-half points.
She help fuel the Cowgirls in the second half after Lindsey
Newcombe went out with four fouls just minutes into the second
half.
HSU had a 14-point first half lead but ETBU battled back to cut
the deficit to three at halftime, 38-35. HSU exploded for 62 points
in the second half.
Newcombe had her 11th double-double of the season with 13 points
and 11 rebounds, but in only 17 minutes of action. Mollie Brawner
had 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Kristen Harris had 12
points, Haylee Allen added 11 and Kara Looten had a career-best 10
points.
Satara Harrell scored 17 of her team-high 19 points in the first
half to pace ETBU.
The Cowgirls improved to 8-3 on the year and to 4-3 in ASC play.
ETBU fell to 3-8 overall and 3-4 in league play. HSU will play at
LeTourneau on Saturday at 1 p.m.
