ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons'
women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 dual to Abilene Christian
on Wednesday evening at the Eager Tennis Center.
The Cowgirls lost all six singles matches in straight sets, but
Lisa Mertz played ACU's Dina Paviln tough at No. 1 singles.
Mertz lost 7-6 , 7-5. Diane Crouch won four games in the first set
at No. 6 singles against Madison Hudson, before falling 6-4, 6-2.
ACU also won all three doubles.
The Cowgirls are now 8-4 on the year and have a busy weekend
ahead with three matches. HSU hosts The University of the Southwest
on Friday at 3 p.m. and then plays host to Mary Hardin-Baylor and
Central Oklahoma on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. respectively.
