Box Score AUSTIN, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' women's
soccer team got just what it wanted in the American Southwest
Conference opener against Concordia on Thursday afternoon in
Austin, not only did they win 4-0 but a fast start allowed them to
sit the starters in preparation for Saturday's game at
Texas-Tyler.
HSU jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead thanks to a second-straight
hat trick by Amy
Kuykendall. It all came in the first 30 minutes of the game.
After that the Cowgirls played mainly their reserves and cruised to
the 4-0 win. Katie
Kuykendall had two assists, both on corner kicks for the
Cowgirls.
Freshman Courtney
Cramer had the other goal for the Cowgirls. Rebecca Roth and
Haley
Martin split the time in goal for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls outshot Concordia 31-2 and 15-1 on goal.
HSU is now 3-0 on the year and 1-0 in American Southwest
Conference action. HSU will play at one of the top contenders
Texas-Tyler on Saturday at 2 p.m.
