Box Score ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons's women's soccer team received all four of its goals from seniors as the Cowgirls defeated East Texas Baptist 4-0 on Senior Day at the HSU Soccer Complex on Saturday.
Jessica Stuckey put the Cowgirls on the board early in the game when scored off a corner kick just 3:37 into the game. Caitlin Cramer converted a corner kick at the 32:59 mark to make it 2-0.
It stayed 2-0 until Vivian Wells scored a pair of goals less than two minutes apart late in the second half. She scored off a nice cross from Jordan Lara at 76:47 and scored at the 78:27 mark unassisted.
Lexi Stinson worked the shutout in goal with a pair of saves. HSU has now shut out seven straight opponents.
HSU outshot the Tigers 19-4 and 13-2 on goal in the game. HSU also had nine corner kicks in the game, compared to none for ETBU.
The Cowgirls honored their eight seniors - Caitlin Cramer, Courtney Cramer, Devon Howard, Kati McCarty, Kristen Pack, Stuckey, Taylor Thigpen and Wells.
The Cowgirls have won 13 straight games and are 13-1 on the year and 9-0 in conference play. ETBU fell to 5-7-1 overall and 4-4-1 in league play. HSU closes the regular season next Saturday at Howard Payne.
HSU is the ASC regular season champion and the No. 1 seed in the ASC Championship. The HSU men are currently in first place in the ASC and need a win over Howard Payne on Thursday to secure the No. 1 seed. If both teams from the same school are the No. 1 seed by ASC rules the men host the tournament in odd years and the women in even years, meaning the ASC Women's Tournament would be at the second-place team if HSU's men can beat Howard Payne.
