Box Score RICHARDSON, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team beat California Lutheran 4-1 on Friday night at the UTD Soccer Complex in Richardson.
Cal Lutheran jumped on the board early when Bianca Deardorff scored off a redirected free kick in the ninth minute.
Julianne Kucera then tied the game at the 10:24 mark on a penalty kick. It stayed 1-1 until the 59th minute when Katie Haltiwanger scored on a pass from Vivian Wells.
Kucera scored again just under three minutes later on another Wells assist. Devon Howard scored on a Haltiwanger pass in the 74th minute.
Lexi Stinson had three saves and earned the win in goal.
HSU outshot CLU 16-8 overall and 7-4 on goal.
The Cowgirls will next be in action next Saturday when they host Chapman at noon. HSU is 2-1 on the season and CLU fell to 1-2.
