Cowgirls Earn NSCAA Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY– Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team was given the Team Academic Award for its performance in the classroom in the 2015-16 school year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

HSU posted a team grade point average of 3.61 for the year which tied for No. 29 in the nation out of all collegiate programs at all levels and ranked sixth among Division III schools.

"The award is a reflection of the type of student-athletes we have at HSU," said HSU head coach Marcus Wood. "Our kids put the work in on and off the field and they are the type of driven personalities that want to succeed in whatever they do.

The Cowgirls were awarded the honor for the 13th time in 14 years. It is given to programs with a Team GPA of 3.0 or better.
