Box Score JACKSON, Miss. – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team continued its shutout streak as it blanked Belhaven 6-0 in action Thursday evening in Jackson, Miss.
Kami Jones put the Cowgirls on the board in the 14
th minute with her sixth goal of the season. She has scored in five straight contests and now has 35 career goals. She is one goal away from joining the Cowgirls career top 10.
Kirsten Parrish scored the first of her three goals in the 37
th minute off an
Olivia Hartman corner kick. All three of her goals came off corner kicks. She later tallied in the 60
th and 68
th minutes.
Kenne Kessler scored her second goal of the year less than a minute into the second half.
Josey Meyer scored the final goal for the Cowgirls in the 84
th minute.
Caitlin Christiansen recorded the shutout in goal with one save. HSU outshot the Blazers 23-1 in the contest and 13-1 on target.
The Cowgirls have not allowed a goal in the last 402:06 of game action. HSU has four straight shutouts.
HSU is now 6-1 on the year and have won six straight games. The Blazers do not count in the ASC standings this season. BU fell to 1-5 on the year. HSU will conclude the roadtrip on Saturday with a 1 p.m. game at Louisiana College.
